Kaleiçi – Antalya's Historic Old Town

The historic district of Kaleiçi lies in the heart of Antalya and holds many reminders of this city's ancient past. This historic town centre has been occupied for over 2000 years and evidence of its Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman past is still prominent. Wander the ancient streets, passing artisanal shops and small restaurants nestled into traditional buildings. Visitors can visit Hadrian's Gate, built to commemorate the emperor's visit to the city in 130 AD, or explore one of the city's many impressive mosques, such as the 18th century Tekeli Mehmet Paşa Mosque, one of the most important in the city.

The Castle of St. Peter – Bodrum's historic stronghold

The Castle of St. Peter, more simply known as Bodrum Castle, is a must-see sight for visitors to Bodrum. Originally completed in 1437, the castle was built by the Knights Hospitaller to keep a foothold on the Turkish mainland following the invasion of the Ottomans. The castle today is exceptionally well preserved, and visitors can admire the chapel, the various knight's towers, or walk the walls to gain views across the bay to the island of Kos. The castle also houses Bodrum's museum of underwater archaeology, which displays artefacts from ancient shipwrecks found around the Turkish coast.
Ephesus World Heritage Site – Discover ancient wonders

The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ephesus is one of Turkey's most impressive archaeological sites and showcases a wealth of Greek, Roman, and Byzantine ruins. A major port city in antiquity, Ephesus was home to the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the ruins of which can still be seen today. Explore the ancient streets and admire the exceptionally well-preserved remains of the Great Theatre, the Celsus Library, and the Basilica of St John, or marvel at the beautiful mosaics and frescoes that have been unearthed here.
